Medical Director, Part Time: Manhattan

SUMMARY:   Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, direct, coordinate and evaluate all aspects of professional care rendered by the clinical staff and physicians, both administrative and medical oversight for the 40-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, Adult Day Health Care Program and Employees’ Health.


QUALIFICATIONS5-10 years-experience in long term care; a specialty in HIV/AIDS; Valid NYS Medical License and Board Certified in Internal Medicine; prior directorship experience required; knowledge of NYSDOH survey process & documentation; current DEA Registration; BCLS or ACLS, Infection Control and HIV Specialty Certifications; knowledge of E-Clinical and SigmaCare; Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening required.



  • Direct and coordinate the medical care for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) residents and Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Program clients.
  • Supervises the activities and status of the Employees’ Health Program to include implementing annual physicals, flu shots and a strict clearance process for returning employees.
  • Participate in the resident care management system and provide input at the Comprehensive Care Plan weekly meetings.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the clinic in the SNF & ADHC and AmidaCare (SNP) including the credentialing process.
  • Serve on the Ethics Committees and other facility meetings as appropriate.
  • Attend the SNF Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee, addressing issues as Infection Control, Restraint Reduction, Medication Usage, and Quality Indicators.
  • Assist with resident admissions, discharges and transfers.
  • With the assistance of the Pharmacist consultant, monitor and evaluate the residents’ drug regimen; oversee the pharmacy budget.
  • Participate in the NYSDOH survey process, clarify questions and information regarding the residents to surveyors; assist in the Plan of Correction as necessary.
  • Attend and present to the Board of Directors quarterly meetings.
  • Provide medical coverage as needed; and on rotating on-call schedule.
